Client Profile:

The Los Angeles Community College District’s (LACCD) Bond Program began in 2001 and ran through 2012 and resulted in the renovation and construction of buildings and infrastructure on all nine of the District’s campuses. Vantage worked with the District to develop an overall approach to the budgeting and procurement of technology systems for the Bond Program and provided strategic planning, infrastructure engineering, system design, technology standards programs, vendor selection, construction administration and implementation management for the information technology, audiovisual and low voltage systems for numerous projects as a part of each project’s design team.

Highlights of Vantage’s work included:

  • A 100,000 square foot Allied Health and Sciences Center featuring classrooms and laboratories, a Nursing Simulation Suite, and wireless-enabled indoor and outdoor study spaces at LA Valley College.
  • A 119,000 square foot Performing Arts Center including performance space, technology equipped classrooms, lecture rooms and support areas at East Los Angeles College.
  • A 85,000 square foot Math, Science and Technology Building that included a Dental Lab that allows the instructor to display protected digital training materials on 40 student monitors at Los Angeles City College.
  • Two new five story buildings housing 66,000 square feet of technology classrooms (including a prototype new classroom), 56,000 square feet of student services and an 1,800 square foot utility building at Los Angeles Trade Technical College.
  • Creation and update of Campus Technology Standards, addressing information technology infrastructure, audiovisual and security systems.
  • The upgrade of the campus-wide underground ductbanks, optical fiber and copper external cabling.

In all Vantage participated in over 80 projects for LACCD  renovating existing and creating new buildings, learning spaces and infrastructure to support the District’s anticipated growth in enrollment and helping to position it well to provide high quality education to its students and surrounding community.
