Peninsula Medical Center

Location: Burlingame, CA
Client: Sutter Health
Architect: Stantec

Project Description:

Named in 2012 as one of the nation’s 100 great Community Hospitals by Becker’s Hospital Review, this new facility replaced the 50-year old Peninsula Medical Center and includes a new seven-story, 410,000 square-foot acute care hospital with 232 private rooms with room for expansion.  A neighboring 200,000 square-foot medical office building includes 84,000 square-feet of offices for specialty physicians on three floors and is directly connected to the hospital to optimize the delivery of quality patient care. Vantage worked with the hospital to develop a strategic technology program for integrated technology and low voltage systems for the new facility and also designed these systems.  Focused on Sutter’s goal of implementing its electronic medical record system, the technologies provided in the new hospital promote workflow and process improvements and enhance the healing environment for patients, staff and visitors.
