Project Description:

Pennsylvania State University was established in 1855 and continues as a state-related institution of higher education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with its primary campus, University Park, located in State College, Pennsylvania.  It is a major research institution currently enrolling approximately 96,500 students in a broad range of academic programs.  PSU was interested in establishing a new, single, unified system that would offer high quality, reliable and enhanced telephony services to 22 campuses of PSU taking advantage of the implementation of a state-wide fiber optic network.

Vantage was first retained to conduct a feasibility study to determine if this project was technically and operational viable, to project the potential savings, determine the level of interest on the part of the campuses, and identify vendors capable of such an undertaking.  The project was determined to be feasible and Vantage then assisted PSU with development of the RFP, the procurement process, bid evaluation, and conducting facilitated workshops to assist the Voice Advocacy Working Group (evaluation team) through the complex technical and financial assessment process.

Vendor selection is currently underway.  Vantage is part of a select group of firms that provide ongoing services to the Pennsylvania State University system.
