Student Services Assessment

Project Description:

Working closely with the University’s Department of Networking and Telecommunications, Vantage performed an assessment of the technology services the department provides to its students.  The services include telephone, CATV, wired and wireless network and Internet access.  The purpose of the work was to review the costs, management, and delivery of the services to ensure cost effectiveness and efficiency of delivery.  The effort also looked at the potential for providing the services through outside vendors and looked at the future of such services.  A web-based survey of peer institutions was also undertaken to determine and understand how similar large Universities provide like services.  A comprehensive report of our findings with detailed recommendations resulted.  A follow-up project to look at the potential for expanding wireless network services campus-wide was one of the results of our efforts.
